In 2018, the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) received an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant for a three-year conservation research project focused on bird taxidermy. The research aimed to improve preservation practices for bird feathers across natural history, ethnographic, fashion, and fine art collections.
